I'm an American in Italy with a recently purchased 1994 518.
I seem to have a short or open circuit somewhere.
I have lost power to:
- Windows;
- locks;
- wipers (work on fast setting only);
- interior lights (come on only manually, not when door opens)
About 2 months earlier, the after-market stereo began to cut out intermittently,
and finally stopped completely.
I've read that these are all on the same circuit,
but without proper documentation I cannot know for sure.
All Fuses checked out fine, and the fuesable link under the hood & under the backseat seem OK (voltmeter showed over 12 volts).
The alarm system is also after-market.
Setting it closes all windows & as well as locking the doors
So obviously, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, any directions as to where I can find proper documentation?
(Can't find Haynes manuals in Sardinia, and the one I downloaded didn't give enough detail)
