2001 525i, 32k miles, just bought the car on Saturday. From what it looks like, the car hasn't been taken care off that well LIttle things here and there tell me that. Maint book is clean, oil was changed by some LubeStop place, front left blinker bulb is not there, one of the little spray things on the left one doesn't work (windows washer thingy)

So I have decided to just drop it off to the dealer and have them check out everything and perform 30k service. I called one by my work and they told me 450 bucks. What do you guys think? Is it worth it to have them check out the entire car? Or is this something that I can do myself? I really want to do what should be done and go the right way (dealer way) but then again, oil change, new wipers, check this and that, 450 bucks later, I could do that for 100 all together myself.

I think you're doing the right thing for now specially if you're not familiar with BMW's. Get yourself a repair manual. Once you get the car back you can start performing little maintenance tasks yourself.

Another advise, find yourself a shop besides the dealer. If the car is under warranty, take it to the dealer.
Good luck with your car

Can is still under warranty for next 20k miles...I was thinking to have the dealer take a look at it and just do necessary maintenance. I mean, I can do my own oil changes, thats no problem...
