how's everyone doing.... i traded in my x5 a little more than a month ago and picked up an 05 530i. i have the 18 inch stock wheels on there now, however i can never keep the stocks for too long... i was told 19 is the biggest.. and now others are saying 20. Do we have ne one that knows for sure??????
AND.... after we figure out what's the biggest rim i can fit on there... what's the widest i can go in the rear and front... i'd like to do staggered, i just dont know what's the widest i can go.
I have 19x8" on mine all the way around. The max you can put on it 20x10 rear and 20x9 front but every once in a while with the 20"s it will rub on bumps in the rear. Not a big deal. A important note though my 19"s fill the wheel well with 30 sidewall tires. Believe me I feel the difference in power from the crappy gear ratio, and excess unsprung weight. 20"s will make your car a straight up dog as well as more strain on steering/suspension components, but thats the price you pay for lookin nasty.
Good luck

Go with the 20's, I have em on my '97 540i and I do nothing but turn heads when I come around a corner. You will get a little nudge here and there when you hit a nasty bump, but they ride fine.
kewl.. thanks guys.... i'm thinking either a set of avus wheels. or dub trumps... i'm pretty sold on the 20's.. it's a brand new whip.. and i'm leasing it. so suspension, steering problems down the line i'm not worried about. i just got this to hold me over till the new m5 hits later this yr/early next year.
