2005 BMW 525i iDrive Control System. Drive Moderately
I got a "Drive Control System. Drive Moderately" message on the iDrive display and a yellow triangle with circle on the instrument cluster yesterday when I was driving on highway at 75mph. The message goes off after a few minutes, but the yellow triangle remains (I think its a traction control indicator in instrument cluster). This seems to happen intermittently and corrects itself if I turn the ignition off and then back on again.
I have no idea what is wrong.Any help in above would be appreciated.
If it's the amber Triangle with the exclamation "!" in the centre then yes, it is the TC... Could be a faulty wheel sensor, or a build-up of dirt/debris in the rear of the rotor-fins... Just an idea !!

Yes it is. Wondering if is a serious issue or if I can live with it? Its happening most of the times (message and TC light but goes away after sometime) if I drive more than 15-20 miles.
Try holding down the TC button for some time - The light will illuminate and then go off, this is "Half-On" mode where the ABS is only active... If it illuminates after you start driving away then it maybe an ABS sensor(s)/dirty fins.

OK, I had the car scanned. Its comes out to be faulty Steering angle wheel sensor. They had it reset for now. Not sure what this sensor do and if it gonna help break more things in the car. They gave me an estimate of $1000 to replace it. Don't know if I need to fix it quickly or what.
TBH, it depends how hard you drive the car - This sensor coincides with speed and cornering... If it has been reset then it should be fine... How did they decide it was faulty?
