2005 530i metal clunk noise from steering Here's the problem: While driving, there's a metal clunk noise when you steer from left to right and back. The sound is loud enough that you can here it mostly from the driver's side. It is also coming from the passenger side as well but faint. You cannot feel the metal clunk on the steering wheel but you can feel it on the floorboard by your feet (driver's side). At rest or parked, when you turn the steering wheel left to right and back, it does not make the sound and everything feels solid. I looked underneath and the everything looked fine. I also shook things around to feel for excessive play and nothing gave way. This only happens when driving at any speed and when turning. I also checked the steering fluid level and color and it was good to go.
I read on a thread to check for suspension. How would I check it other then the bounce test?
