I've received a quote on a 2004 BMW 545i and I believe it's very competitive and wanted some feedback from the board. Options include Sport Package, Premium Sound, Cold Weather and Rear Airbags. (Destination charge $695)
MSRP $61,930
Invoice $56,585
My quote $58,000
$3930 below MSRP is a pretty good deal. Where are you getting this? I placed an order in early December 03 that was $1500 below MSRP before the 1.2% price hike so my discount is closer to $2200. I would jump on that deal if I were you.
I live in Massachusetts and have ordered the car with a late May/early June delivery date. They've recommended I purchase snow tires for the 545i due to the Sport Package...it's a pain but I wanted the additional goodies that the Sport Package offered. Any thoughts on good snows for this vehicle?
I don't understand: did you skip the Sports Package because the run-flats that accompany this package are not suitable for snow?
The Sports Package includes active roll stabilization, active steering, and a few other goodies (such as 12-way power seats). Considering that snow in Massachusetts lasts, let's say 5 months per year, I would get the Sports Package and an extra set of snow tires. Each set of tires will last twice as long, hence you will incur no extra cost over the long run. (I have owned two 5-series back-to-back; in both cases the tires wore out after 3 1/2 years.) I intend to drive my 545i on some pretty twisty roads here in northern California, so roll stabilization is a big deal for me.
