2003 (53) 545i Bluetooth Problem

My i-drive doesn't give me the option to select Bluetooth.

When I enter the "Communications" option and then select "Telephone" I get the message "Please activate phone"

The only other option available to me is "BMW Assist".

Anyone any ideas ?

I had a hard time setting up my phone but finally found out how to make it work. You will need to find the code for your car my dealer located it for me. Next you have to follow the directions in your phone manual and enter the code when the phone asks for the number. After that my car recognizes the phone evert time I get into the car with the phone. At the top of the Idrive screen it will say phone connected.
