I was wondering if my engine could handle a turbo, or in general what type of upgrades such as performance chips, new headers, or even if its possible to do an engine swap with a much better and bigger engine.
Again I have a 525i, 2003. E39. 82,000 miles
Other than that when im accelerating I hear some weird noises, anyone know about this or have comon sounds with the 03 525i?
You may have the M50 unit (engine) Straight-six and a brilliant motor mate... M52 has a longer stroke (2.8)...
I would go for a re-map first mukka...
They were designed, and built in Germany... Hence the Euro spec, apart from US legislation, they are built as standard and CAN be "tweaked" to your own prefs !
Get shot of the CATs, (maybe an emission issue there)... You will not need a "Blower" to achieve an extra 40 hp+
