2002 530i - More Aux fan issues

I recently replace my aux fan (thanks to darkhorse737 for the diagnosis help) and now it will occaisionally continue to run (low speed) after turning off the engine. I don't know how long it would continue but I've waited up to half an hour and it was still running. I was able to get it to stop a couple times be starting the car, and driving a half mile up the road and back and then shutting off the engine. This morning that didn't work. I had to unplug the fan at that connector that's mounted on the front of the shroud. I plugged it back in and it stayed off. Any suggestions on what might cause this? Any thought would be appreciated.
