2001 540I Transmission Problem - BMW Forum

I have a 2001 540I with sports package, automatic/step-tronic transmission. Had a hard up-shift occuring in auto-sports mode when the kick-down (shift down) occurred when passing or fast acceleration. Did not get any "trouble" messages. After a month BMW replaced the trans. under warranty and now a hard shift occurs from 3rd to 4th, light or hard acceleration. BMW indicated I should drive the car for 7-10 days and the "problem" should correct itself per the computer. Have done so and no change. Ready to take it back. Looking for any others that have experienced the same. Is there something outside the trans (control modual, etc.) that could be bad and just not showing up on the diagnostics.

I tell you ..since the dealer is willing to deal with it....keep it as such....very expensive trans. and I am sure the dealer has the proper diagnostic tools to know whats wrong with it.......good luck
