My car stalls after its been driven for over an hour, and only after i shut off the engine and turn it back on, it catches, i have to rev it a little, but then it dies after. I have to rev for a good 30 seconds until the car stays idle, alternator issue?
This is related to your idle control valve and/or throttle switch. The symtoms are:
Car won't start when hot (after15/20 minutes) or cold (parkedfor an hour)
Car stalls for no reason...
Car shakes in idle
No power
There was member who had to replaced the switch (I think) or found a loose connection on the switch after he brought back from the dealer. Dang it, can't find it but it's there!
Ok, I did more research last night and it's possible it could be your MASS CONTROL AIR FLOW sensor based on the symptoms you described. Without a scan tool it's difficult to pin point the problem. But this sensor would be a good place to start!
Thanks for the research, i'm getting the car back from the shop today, i'll let you know what they said it was...

The BMW service said they replaced a cam sensor. I have no idea what that does, but ok, but the car seems to be working fine now.
