2000 528i BMW E39 (Headlight and M5 Front Bumper Upgrade)
Hello Everybody,
I am still kinda new to the forum, so I looking for some suggestions on installing a new set of angel eyes headlight w/Xenon from Ebay and a new M5 style front bumper w/fogs from Bavarian AutoSport.
I spent a lot of money for these items, so I want it to be done right... Should I even attempt to install them myself(seller of items both state the headlights and bumper are a exact fit) or should I go ahead and spend the money for a pro. I am looking up on the forum also for some experiences with this project thus far also.
Headlights are very easy to install. With basic hand tools you're looking at a 15 minute install for both. The headlights on E39's are held down by 4 bolts which you can easily see and access. I'm assuming you bought DEPO P39's...
The front bumper is also relatively easy to install, however proper alignment can be difficult and finicky. A good body shop can get one to fit really well in about an hour.
Im thinking of upgrading my headlights, could you tell me the seller on ebay your getting them from?[
Stay away from e-bay and look at companies like Umnitza and DDM Tuning. E-bay is not the place to buy headlights from in this situation. Trust me, I know people who have been down that road and they ended up regretting it.
If you want the real oem bumper covers look at Bavarian Autosport. If you want to go the replica route you can look at DDM Tuning or Umnitza again. As far as I know you can not get them pre-painted but I wouldn't want them to be pre-painted because they won't be color matched. Any halfway decent body shop can paint and color match. Just don't go to Maaco and you'll be fine.
