1st in automotive history

Any ideas on where I can get a driver's side sun visor (gray) for less than the dealer's arm and a leg price? They must make 200-300% on these kinds of parts. It has the sliding mirror cover that activates a cosmetic light switch.

Here is the story (this may be a first in automotive history). My wife was turning in to her folks' driveway and simultaneously was swinging the visor away from the door to the windshield (huh?). She CLAIMS as she was doing so it somehow got stuck on the steering wheel and snapped off at the elbow near the mounting plate. I think she just got pissed and jerked it over and broke it.


But in the interest of maintaining harmony (31 years now) I didn't go the PMS route and she is obviously quite strong. .

Actually it is very common for them to break that way.

i would suggest a junkyard or ebay.

Thanks for the feedback - the elbow that broke does look pretty puny (1/2" diam PLASTIC with a wire cast into the center). So maybe I over-reacted.

I will show this to my wife - I think she will appreciate it and I will just have to put up with the "Ha ha! I told you so! Why didn't you believe what I said?" Doh.

I am also looking for visor mirror on ebay and other bmw parts websites, but couldnt find one. Lemme know if you find a source (preferably cheaper )
