I changed my oil and filter and is there anything that i need to reset after a oil change? Its a 540i,auto, w/ v8 4.4 engine.

Welcome to the Werkz.

Try this

Open the round (diagnostics) cap under the bonnet.
With the ignition off, put a wire between pins 7 and 19.
Turn the ignition to position 2, "run."
(Do not start the engine.)
After just a couple seconds, remove the jumper wire.
(If you wait eight to ten seconds, it will do an Inspection reset.)

That should work for you.

I put a jumper between 7 and 19 . Turned the switch to the 2nd. slot before start and waited a couple of seconds. Turn it off and I did not see any change. I have not started the car maybe that is why. I am going out today and I will let you know if it worked.

I don't see any changes in dash display. Well i guess i will just keep my own record on oil and filter change. Thanks for your help,
