I picked one up on E-bay. You can also call around to local dealers. Often they have a spare one which might not be your exact model but close enough. Last try would be BMW US. They have been knwon to throw a bone if asked nicely. Try information for Schaumburg, IL
I was able to download manual for a 2000 528, but they don't have manuals prior to 2000. I have a 99 that I just bought and no manuals, but my dealer is ordering them for me.
