1994 530i

How in blazes do I get the rear seat up to access the battery?

I have worn my fingers raw trying to find a handle in the back of the bottom cushion(s).

The owner's manual says it should fold forward, but it also says it is a 1/3 - 2/3 split seat (which it is not).

Can any of you help a poor dummy with a public school education figure this out???used:

Had the same problem. They are put in good. Mine has a clip at the centre of each seat. Push like mad and pull up, You can do each side seperately. Comes out in one piece

Get Mad

Had the same problem. They are put in good. Mine has a clip at the centre of each seat. Push like mad and pull up, I put front seats back as far as possible to get some leverage. You can do each side seperately. Comes out in one piece.
