1992 E34: looking for advice

Hi! As my old Toyota is getting too old, I decided it was the time to buy one car I always wanted to own, a bm. The other day I found a 1992 520i in great shape, all original, true 100.000 km. The car was originally sold in South Africa and I've heard some rumours about differences between that model and regular ones sold in Europe. The other thing that would be usefull for my avaliation of the car is, what problems may I expect to have with this car, or, saying it in another way, which are its weak points. After googling a little bit, I found this forum and seemed to me that you might help me. Aleady searched past posts but didn't find too much, is it a good sign? Thanks.

As far as the engine goes you should not have any problems... if it's been maintained properly. Try to get some service records for that.

The weakest part of the car is the suspension. Very soon the control arm bushings will go south and will need to be replaced. That is a few hours of work and it doesn't cost much.

The reason you are not finidng much info is because there are no 520i
s in the United States. Those were just for Europe.
