Hello, I am new to this site and new to owning a BMW. I have a 1992 525i E34 . I have an oil leak at the back of the oil filter cannister, just above the oil sending unit. There is what looks like a valve or plug, is there suppose to be a cap or cover over it?

Deja vue all over again! Check the gasket on the sending unit, or the sending unit itself. Mine was leaking about a quart of oil per fuel tank until I replaced the unit.
Hi Thanks for the reply........I found the leak ...there is a cap/plug just above the oil pressure sending unit on the filter canister housing. The 'O" ring was bad and leaking.
