I have a 1992 525i, and recently the "open door" chime goes off when I accelerate from a stopping position...or when I go in reverse. Also, when I turn my key on the driver side to lock up, the driver side locks but the rest of the doors unlock. I realize I should just take it in as it sounds like a couple electrical issues. I was just wondering if anyone else has had either of these issues and if so, how/what do I do to fix it ??? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is quite annoying to walk around and manually lock all the doors and hear the chime after a stoplight. Thanks!!!
The open door signal is sent from the door striker that, the bit on the pillars that the catch locks onto, they are known for this. As to the central locking dose any of the other central locking work i.e. can you lock the car from the boot or passenger door. If you can't start checking fuse etc if you can it's in the door i.e a micro-switch or a motor
