Hi there, Firstly, Hello to you all, I am a new member here, living in Australia, my Father in Law owns a BMW 525i 1992, and we are the kind of people who love to get in and work with the engine.
However.... We need a new Auto Trasnmission, and we have found one, but the supplier is asking us whether our current transmission is 4 or 6 pin?... we haven't taken the current Trans out yet, and we think that this is the only way we will find out..... We would rather get the Transmission before we take it out, as it is going to be a mammoth job that we would rather do all in one go...
call the people you are talking to and ask exactly what they mean by 4 pin & 6 pin(i actually suppose it is the connector for the electrics)
Just to be sure you are talking about the same thing. ASK. and while u are at it, ask where the part u wish to see is located
In some cases, if you call your local BMW dealer and give them your VIN. they should be able to give you that info. You can even ask for the tranny specs for your car.
