1991 bmw 525i starting issues

hey guys i have 91 525i.... car starts fine after cold soak.... when i finished driving vehicle i shut off....go back to start the vehicle within a matter of a couple minutes vehicle would not crank.... ignition is on.... everything in the car is operational. if i let the vehicle sit for like 20 minutes the vehicle starts up fine. not everytime it happens.. if one has info please reply

Just had a similar problem, except it would take about 2 hours of letting the car cool down before it would start again... My Mech told me to change the Temperature Switch... you will see 2 sensors screwed into the engine near the front, on the drivers side, slightly under the intake. the one that you should change is the one in the direction of the firewall. It is a tight squeez getting in there without removing the intake, but its worth not removing it.. I used a stubby 19mm wrench. I removed the alternator coolong duct, and had a little more access.
