Hello, I own a 525i in nice condition eith 191,000 I replaced the heat valves under the hood and replaced the Blower Sword also and I repaired the right side stepper motor mount that that was broken right off. I stil have heat comming out of the left center Vent sometimes just a little warmer than the right vent now today the knobs completely turned all way to cold setting still heat out of left vent? I have the model with the 3 control levers and knobs not the auto one thanks if you can help me the Bently does not tell you how to diagnose and I can understand electrical testing also. So please help If you can I don't like the dealers around here in Michigan except one. Thanks

Although you did repair some critical parts of the system here is what I think:
A. If air is blowing from the wrong vent (when not selected) then it signals a stepper motors problem and possible the control unit. AKA sword though you did relace but did you test it ?
B. If heat is blowing instead of the outside air then it points towards the heater valves being stuck open.
C. Also I would suggest a heater control simple test. Light comes on when you push the buttons, electronic switches AC light. In your case a dial knob does your fan work in all three speeds?
