1984 528e Electrical Problems

I have a 1984 528e. The problem or problems is/are:

1. The fule pump does not work, except when a jumper wire is placed between the 87 and 30 on the circuit. I replaced the circuit with a new one and the fuel pump still fails to operate.

2. Item that would normally work when the key is turned off, i.e the horn, break lights, and such do not work when th ekey is off. However, when I rotate the key foward they work, meaning properly just have to have the key turned on.

3. It will not crank, it will turn over, but will not catch, it trys to a couple of times, I believe this may be related to the fuel pump, or not. When I pul lthe distributor wire and ground it out on the block, its spark is not constant with every rotation.

Your horn and lights are not supposed to work unless the key is on.

MAybe my car is just odd, however, the horn and lights did work without the key. I am sure the horn worked, because my son has blown it befoer sitting in the car. So I still think there is another problem.
