06 525xi Cylinder 6 misfire

The other day my car starts to vibrate and CEL come on. I head to Autozone and they scan the car and it says, Cylinder 6 Misfire. Since the car has over 85,000 I purchase 6 new plugs. I replace the plugs. After replacing the car still vibrates CEL still on so head back to Autozone. He gave me a new plug to use to replace on Cylinder 6. Does anyone know if Cylinder 6 is the one all the way in the back hidden the cabin filter of the close to the headlights? Do you think I should replace the just the one coil or all the coils? If anyone has any suggestions or had this problem before please let me know. Thanks in advance for your help!

Swap the coil pack from the misfirng cylinder to a cylinder you know is working. If the missfire follows the coil pack then the coil pack is bad. If the misfire stays at Cylinder 6 then their is something else wrong. IE, fuel injection, bad wire.

did you see if the spark plug was gapped right, I did not gap my plugs and the idle was so rough. MAKE sure that you use a WIRE spark plug gaped not a blade. this is a bmw owner must. if there is still a miss the measure the resistance across the two outer prongs on the meter is should be between .4-.8 ohm. but the procedure might be different for your vehicle (search it up to be safe).

Actually, if you use propper plugs they come pre gapped. The NKG BRK6EK plugs for the M50/M52 motors are pre gapped.

"Actually, if you use proper plugs they come pre gapped. The NKG BRK6EK plugs for the M50/M52 motors are pre gapped. " that is just like saying the wheels were all torqued properly and in a pattern, it is always good to double check. mechanics and factory workers make mistakes, I am a mechanic and I make mistakes. Finally the only plugs that get gapped are two or more pronged plugs.
On a side note K.I.S.S.( keep it simple stupid). there are four things that and engine needs to run Air, fuel, compression, spark. it is most likely not air, maybe fuel( injector), maybe compression, if spark change all of the spark plugs and remember that bmws are very smart they remember how things work and they remember how they and the coils work. you may need to reset computer. try a compression test( remember to take all of the spark plugs for no compression leak) or testing to coil packs. if the compression steadily rises then it may be the rings if that is the case or the compression take a few drops of 10w-40 and put it in the low compression engine. if the compression goes back to normal, then I pray for you and the rings are bad. if not then compression leak down test. I could go on for hours, if you need more pm me and I can help I have 4 ASE certifications and about to get a fifth. I would to love to help, cars are my passion.
