I am new to BMW, but not new to mechanics. I picked up my first BMW this past Saturday. When I picked it up, everything was fine, however I am in Michigan and for some reason it is now snowing again lol... the car was garage kept before but now that is outside in 30 degree it rolls over slow in the morning... once it starts its fine. Typically I would think I need a new battery or starter, so I was just wondering if this is something that is normal. Another reason is I am about to fly out of town tomorrow and not sure I want to leave the car at the airport if I may have an issue starting it when I return (5 days).
As the battery is probably 8 ish years old, it will have a date on the battery, I would say batt needs changing.
Now here is a silly question...
I will change the battery this evening just in case... will disconnecting the battery to change it do anything to the car? Is there anything I should be aware of before doing this? I had a problem with a car before where it reset my keyfob and had to reprogram it.
Hmmmm, If you had that keyfob problem when you last took the battery off ( 1st time Ive heard of this!!), then best you get BM to change it,also you will need your radio code, although I have disconnected mine about five times now a the radio never got affected.

It looked like it was the original battery. There was not a date stamp on it however it had BMW logos on it. It also had a battery test thing... green was good, black needed charged, yellow was replace. It was in the black. I replaced battery just to be safe. Car rolled over fine this morning Im assuming it would not take a full charge due to the age of the battery.
