I personally dont have any experience with the cup kit, but seeing as how it drops your car 2 inches int he front im more than willing to bet its one of the harshes rides around. Both of these dont have adjustable dampeners, which is what you should ideally look for. And that is also a extra few hundred. Honestly there are other suspensions out htere cheaper and still great. You just need to keep looking. Iwould recommend TEIN but I dont think they have a coilover system for the e36 3er yet, just M3.

Something you really should consider instead of a coilover system or Cup Kit is just matching up some other shock/struts with some nice sport springs. This goes in reference to what 94BMW325 said earlier. He was asking if you wanted the Sport H&R spring or the Race spring. Obviously you picked Race and thats a mcuh better choice fo ryou. As far as shocks and struts go you can pick up some great Bilstein Sport shocks to go with those H&R's. Thats a very very popular setup among e36's and all BMW's in general. Another great setup is using the Eibach Pro Kit springs wiht those bilsteins. Those bilstein sports are great shocks but if you are looking for the best stand along shock/strut system that doesnt include coilovers I recommend the Koni Adjustable shocks. These have those ajdustable dampeners liek I mentioned. This allows you to adjust how soft or stiff you want your ride. And since im sure someone like yourself wouldnt always want your car on full harsh/stiff these would be advantageous to you. Honestly I havent done much research into convertible suspension but im sure all these options ive told you about are availible.

Something thats a great time saver is for you to call up turnermotorsport. Head over there their website at www.turnermotorsport.com and find thier phone number. They would defintely let you know your specific options. And make sure to bring this information ive told you to them and see what they have for you.

Good Luck!
