so a month ago I go to get my oil changed and the bozo puts regular 10-30 in there when I allways only put full sythetic 5-30---so I make him do it again and put the right stuff in this time......now I'm having a slight problem:

well it being a 16 year old car theres bound to be a spot of oil on the garage floor every now and again -- but lately there's been a puddle under there. A puddle that's a good foot accross. not only that but there's about 1/2 quart too much oil in there acording to the dipstick....--my grandpa is an old tracter/farm mechanic and he says that gas is probably leaking into the oil by the means of a misfire or some other way...so today I change the oil myself and make sure that I put the right amount in-but after driving around the town for a few minutes the oil level is a good 1/2 quart to high again...

is he right? how do I find out what is causing the problem?
