I need to fix/replace the memory mirror motor on my 325 Ci drivers door. I picked up a new motor at a dealer and the wire colors do not match. So, I was trying to figure out what each wire does, (in case I get it wrong) and identified the wires that control the mirror movement up and down, but not side-to-side (the original problem). Maybe my wires got broken when the autobody shop worked on my door (fixed ding and repainted, removing mirror) but I would really rather work from wiring diagrams, but the $120 manual I have does not show individual wires. Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know where I can find one? I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.
Fixed the mirror motor today. As it turns out, the body mechanics did not fully at the black driver mirror connection from the mirror controlled, and while it made good enough connection for the up and down function to work, the left and right did not. Well, after playing around for an hour and firmly reseating the connector, it now works. Lucky me, as the new motor wires did not match the colors of the old one, and figuring which ones controlled what by trial and error would not have been fun. Alls well that ends well.
