Winter Tire Selection - BMW Forum

As the temperature starts to dip, it's a helpful reminder that I need to purchase snow tires this month. I went to tirerack.com and they are recommending the Bridgestone Blizzak LM22s. They are 17" ones, so they will fit on my 17" rims I currently have. Since my rims have some scratches on them, I figured I would just turn them into my winter beater rims and purchase some 18" rims in a few years for my summers.

Are these LM22 tires as good as they say they are?

If you're running seperate summer and winter tires, I'd recommend just going with the Blizzak WS-50's. The LM-22 are more of an all season tire. The WS-50 is winter/snow specific. I use them and they work great.
