Windshield Washer Fluid Light - BMW Forum

My windshield washer fluid light came on...I popped the hood and it looks about a 1/4 full. Can I add any type of windshield washer fluid or does it have to be a special kind? I am a new bmw owner so want to make sure. Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks!

Well....we put in blue colored washer fluid. I don't know any other kind that you can buy or put in there....

It depends on the season. Almost any brand will do just make sure you pick the appropriate one for the season you are in. I use an ice melt winter mix when the weather turns cold and a bug and tar mix when the weather warms up.

JUST dont put washing up liquid in there....it will clean off your wax layer

Don't use Rain-X products on vehicles with Rain-Light sensors. Rain-X leaves a permanent film on the windshield and interfiers with the sensing unit.
