Thumbs up

Hey Guys...I have finally made up my mind and decided that I wanted to go with window tint on my car. However, in my area, the only LEGAL shade I can go with is 32%. My question? What manufacturer would you guys recommend? Also, would you go with a metalized tint or a dyed tint? And...DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON THE "DOT MATRIX"? Thanks guys! B)

I asked the local dealer who they had tint their cars. They told me and I went there, I got 10% off because the dealer refered me. They used LLumar tint in 35% (the darkest allowable under Colorado law). They where familiar with tinting BMW's and had all the tricks down making the "Dot Matrix" not a real issue also got a installation warranty and a nation wide lifetime warranty on the tint it self.

I had mine done with a 45% tint with a black dye (black car, black leather) so it looks darker than it really is. Keep in mind that a metallized tint will knock out AM radio reception. A good shop installed the product that was made by MADICO I believe it was. The color was called charcoal. You can't see the dot matrix unless you get up real close to the window. Also metallized tints will resist fading better than dyes, according to the installer.

Is always good to tint the windows for your leather interior, metal films are the best so it will last longer, is a pain to have the tint removed because of faiding, can damage the defroster but like he said you will have some trouble with am. there is also another solution for am signal there is a internal antenna very small that can go by the front windshield on the inside u will never see it..... if u care about am.
LLUMAR ATR series is good.

AutoSolutions, I'm intrigued by this idea of an AM antenna in the front of the car. Can you give me some idea of where to purchase, ease of installation etc. Do you know if they actually perform? Thanks for the input.

Your local car stereo shop should be able to get this amplified antenna, Stinger or Aamp of America makes one with 12dB amplification for AM-FM and attaches on the front windshield behind the rear view mirror, works very well and better than the factory also you are going to need a antenna adapter about $8.00 to $10.00 the antenna is runs $25.00

AZ325Ci is on a distinguished road
if you go with the metallized film, then you will run the chance of knocking out your AM reception. If you get the charcoal film, you will retain the reception.

While the metallized tint will protect your interior better, IMO the charcoal tint has a better look. I have the charcoal tints on mine and I'm loving it!! Currently, I have 35% all around, but I'm thinking of putting darker for the rear window. Not sure yet.

There's always a chance you can have some problems w/ bubbles etc.
Take it to a good shop that deals in high-grade materials and you shouldn't have a problem. With mine, I'm more concerned about scratching and fading.
