I've done research on this and I'm seeing contradictory information. So my question is: will a set of staggered Style 68 M Double Spoke set of wheels from a 2004 330Ci coupe fit on a 1999 328i E46 sedan ?
The spec on these wheels are:
front: 7.5x17 - 225/45R17 - ET41
rear: 8.5x17 - 245/40R17 - ET50
I've heard that the acceptable wheel offsets for my E46 are typically 35-47 and really depends on the width of the wheel/tire that's being fitted. Can anyone explain if the offset of 50 for the rear wheel is or is not a problem ?
yes they will, i also have a '04 330ci and my friend, she as a '99. She liked the wheels on mine so she bought some for her car. If you send me an e-mail i can send you some photos.
Thanks paulg, first hand knowledge is always good to hear.
What size tires did your friend use in the rear wheels, 245/40R17 ?
I've heard that there may be other tire sizes which can be used to minimize any chance of rubbing.
she uses the same size tires as mine 245/40/17R, and 225/45/17F, i change mine to a 255 in the rear, no tire rub, but it makes the back end look a little high, so when they wear out i am going back to the 245's. glad i could help
I found this thread while searching for M68's for my 97 328i. Can you tell me if the black 325/318 on the right side of the pic is at stock ride height with those wheels? It looks great.
I was able to put those wheels on my 93 318. But had to drop all the way to a 235 width on the rear. When I bought the wheels they had 255/40's on them being run on a 95 325 with no spacers, but the fenders were rolled. So you have some options when you get new rubber next time.
