Ok, I am planning to buy 17" wheels for my ride and keep 16" for winter tires.
I looked at different 17" wheels at tire rack, some of them have weights.
Is it any truth in a statement, that lighter wheels more prone to cracking?
What is reasonable compromise? any thoughts?
Any weight that is lighter than the wheel size is good. Like 15lbs on a 17 in rim. Any weight that is heavier than the size of the rim is bad. Like 19lbs on a 18 in rim.
The only way that you would crack a rim is if you are driving the car to hard on a bad road. Most rims wont crack unless you do something to make them.
