Hello,
I have a 1999 328i that I’m interested in changing out the wheel on. I have found some wheels off a 2001 528 that I would like to buy and install on my car. The spec’s on the tires that I would like to buy are as follows:
Front
235 45 17
Rear
255 40 17

Has anyone installed wheels from a 528 unto a 3-series? What kind of things should I have to be concerned with?

Note: my dealership has informed that it is not a good idea; however, they really didn’t explain why.

You should be alright as long as wheel offset and lug patterns are the same.

The only problem I see is the 255 may be a little large for the rear.

i agree with BMWL2. as long as the offset and lug pattern is the same, you should be fine.

the 255 for the rear will be fine as long as you don't lower the car too much. otherwise, you may need to roll out your fenders.

I know for a fact that the offset isn't the same. What problem will this cause?
