after ppl mentioning I should check my wheel bearings because of a weird "whining" oscillating noise I hear during high speed turning, I am curious as to what exactly it is. This is the first time I have come across this term. pardon me for being such a n00b, finally exploring the innards and things that make my car go ^_^

its just like the bearings in a pair of skates... except much better... like ABEC 40 ^_^ they are on the mounts by CV joint

from what I understand, they are part of the CV joint.
