What To Use To Remove Oily Film From My 325xi?

After driving this morning, I noticed an oily substance streaking across the lower trim behind each of the wheel wells on my brand new 2005 325xi sports wagon. I'm assuming it had something to do with my cleaning the wheels yesterday. Anyway, when I tried to remove it by dabbing with a lint free towel immediately after noticing it, it left behind a very faint, hazy oily film. This is a day after a full wash and wax.

Any suggestions as to what I need to remove this substance? I'm going to try my car shampoo in a couple of minutes, but if that doesn't work - and since I'm a newbie in the BMW world - I don't know what the best product is for such a job.

My guess is it could be undercoating from the wheel wells.
You can probably take it off with Varsol or Rubbing alcohol and cotton balls or a clean towel.
You will have to wash the car afterwards and rewax that area.
