Ive been reading on this site for a while, I am saving up for my BMW 3 series (Not sure which model yet...waiting for the 2005's). When the 2005's drop, I am going to make my choice, planning to spend $35k or less. But the question I have, is what size rims should I be looking at? I still want a nice ride, but still love the "Damn those are some big ass rims" look. Let me know what size and style are your favorites, thanks. Difference between this and another post is that, I am looking for more then just a size, but a style and or links so I can look around.
17's are a safe look. Make sure you choose your options before you pick up your BMW. Ask them for the BMW wheels catalog.
For under 32K, you will probably be looking at a 325i... the most your can get for a 05 BMW.....
the 325's come standard with 16" wheels. with the sport package, they come with 17" wheels. are you planning on getting BMW wheels or are you looking at aftermarket wheels?
personally, I like the 18" wheels. that's what i will be getting soon.
I don't know if all dealers are like this, but my dealer said BMW would not order the car with different wheels, I HAD to have it with the wheels it came with, so if your going to buy another pair in addition to your regular wheels(like I did) that's gonna run you some $$$. Your best bet is to get a 325 with the sport package, the 17's look good. I don't even think you can buy a 3 series(m excluded) with an 18 inch wheel option from the factory, unless your dealer tells you different. At any rate, wheels bigger than 17 would be expensive. The 17's on my 330xi look good, I think you'll be happy with 17.

Yup, 16" is standard, if you want 17" you gotta get the sports package, then you have a few options there (at a cost).
18" rock, and fill the wheel well nicely. 19" and you start looking at having to roll your fender. If you get really wide 18's in the rear, you may still need to roll the fenders, depends on your choice of tire size ultimately.
I picked up 4 M3 front wheels (18x8) after I bought my baby. I love their look when on the move!!

Sold em! I think if I lived further north where I'd get more snow, I would have kept them as a set for winter tires. In retrospect, I wish I had kept them as 'track' wheels...
I did keep one, sold the normal steel 'spare' with the 3 rims, the last one is my spare. They were 15's even!
