What should i look for??

Hi,

I am going to check out a 2000 328i with 111K miles on it. I have never owned a BMW and want to know what I should be looking for when I test drive it. I talked to the dealer and he said he would sell it for $8,950 cash. I think I can work to get it down a little bit. I am going to pay a BMW specialist $180 for a pre-purchase inspection to make sure the car is in good shape. Here is the link if anyone wants to check it out. Hopefully someone won't buy it before me. Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

Make sure it Idles Smooth (no shakes at all) and there is no vibration or Shimmy at 53-60 MPH or 78-83 mph... makesure they check all the front bushings in the PPI and do a leakdown test and check the computer for fault codes

Have your mechanic check the front and rear sway bar links and the rear coil springs. We've replaced all of these parts on our 2000 323i. Other than that it's been a great car. Keep up with your normal maintenance and you should be very happy. Good luck!

did u get a carfax report. thats the most important thing first, i believe. One of the main things is to check if it is running smoothly, as in no shaking like what alpinesixandseven said. good luck on your new bimmer
