Please see picture below; would any of you happen to know what this part is? I found it in the trunk but I don't even know if it belongs there. I can't remember if I or my wife or daughter found it elsewhere in the car and put it in the trunk. Could this possibly have anything to do with my "service engine light" coming on? I appreciate any expertise you might have.
The electric contacts suggest it's a sensor, the probe is kinda long; it's likely a temp sensor since separating the temp from the electric contacts makes sense.
