I looked on the bavauto site for the code, but it doesn't seem to include my year. Is it an M50 or M52? Thanks. And a link to a current engine code list would be greatly appreciated. I'm also curious to know my auto tranny (steptronic) manufacturer and code...
From this list it seems I'm an M50? 2.5L 6 cyl dual overhead cam without variable intake? I wondered how the 330i got several more horses - variable intake (M52)?
Yes, your engine code is M54-B25.
Regarding transmission-most likely your car is equipped with a "Hydramatic" 5L40-E unit, made by GM Strasbourg,France or less likely German ZF 5HP19.
To make sure get under your car and check the label on side of the transmission.
