I have done some internet searching and only came up with some reviews of the e46 cars. I have a 1992 325i and a few small problems are starting and my fiancee told me to just trade it in on something I can afford(She does all the bills so she knows what we can afford!) I have been looking at the e46 and like them alot...It all boils down to an e36 m3 or a e46 323 or 328. But I don't know the engine size of the 323 and don't know the hp ratings. Thanks for any help!

so do you think the e46 323 with 170 hp will be close to the power I have with my 92 325i with 189 hp? see i am trying not to step down in power. i want to get a nicer newer car but don't want to have to sacrifice any performance or spend alot of money on parts to make the car as fast as the car i drive now...thanks alot for the help!

I have a 1999 328i e46 w/193 hp & i'm very happy with the power
the 323i has nice power to, you don't really notice the different accept on top end in which I haven't been yet
ive never driven a 92 325, but i can try to describe the 323
power is decent for road. the low end power is great. yet when you get on the highway, prob 80mph or higher, it is hard to get a good pull. If your 92 325 is auto, a 323 manual would prob equal or even faster than the 92 325 auto. handling, like any bmw, its precise. everything else is perfect, the look, the design, etc.
