View Poll Results: What color should I paint my calipers
Have an Alpine White 2001 330i, SS, PP. The calipers are now brown from brake dust and rust, and it really ruins the look of the car. Want to paint my calipers, but unsure of what color to choose. My 3 choices are red, silver, or black. I'm hesitant about the red cause it's what everyone uses. Saw black calipers on a white Audi and liked the way it looked. The silver would make it blend in against the color of the rotors and the wheels.
What do you guys/gals think?
Thanks,
Wosby

What about blue? I was thinking of blue for my calipers too so it would match the blue in the BMW symbol. On a white car, black and silver would be hard to see. Red is always good too, but it depends on how much you want the calipers to stand out.
I am still looking for somewhere that is willing to paint calipers myself...

I think Blue would be cool - I would have voted for that if it was an option!
Trigati, as you said yourself, white would be a pain to keep clean. It's already a maintenance challenge just keeping the rims looking clean.
Doughboyea, I agree the red would give the car an aggresive look, and I do like it. But 9 out 10 painted/anodized/powder coated calipers are already red. Was thinking of defying convention. The silver would be an inprovement, as my calipers aren't looking very "stock" right now. They are brown (rust and dust), not silver as when the car was new. I'm only seeking a clean look, and not intending on advertising to the world that "hey, here's another guy trying to make his brakes look like red calipers of a Porsche or Ferrari".
GnarlyCow. Thanks for the imput, but as I mentioned to Doubhboyea, I'm not trying to attact attention. Juse seeking to eliminated the rusted looking calipers I now have for a clean look.
HAHA, more than whom have responded to my request for the headlights, 13's alot man... on this forum, in this subforum. Scroll down the list of other posts, you'll see that not to many have voiced thier opinions there either.
What else would you like to know? Not being mean, just curious. You could always ask in the Motorsport forum, sometimes it's more active than the E46 one.... sometimes.
