Today I went to my dealership where I bought my car, Assael BMW. I was going there to get some information on the Dinan Cold Air Intake and ECU Upgrades that are required to get this CAI. The sales representative (I forgot his name.. Robert somthing...) He told me that Dinan needs to be competative in pricings so they have this deal that they can only tell you if you come and ask them. So I thought i'd share it with you guys, could be usefull. If you're planning on purhcasing a Dinan Intake, you need Stage I and Stage II CPU/ECU Upgrades. Each one of these costs at least $400 USD. Now the Intake it's self is another $350-400 (Can't remember). Heres the deal, if you are to purchase everything at once, they will take 350 dollars off of the 2nd stage ECU/CPU Upgrade. That is a BIG discount in my books. The installation is $250 USD but I'm pretty sure alot of you can do it yourself.
this is what i think: $1050 for dinan intake and chip = power and torque gain, better response, speed limiter off, engines revs higher and WARRANTY still applies
-$550 for GruppeM intake = self install (10mins) looks better, cheaper, no chip, more power/torque gain than dinan, speed limiter, revs are the same, but it is still more responsive like dinans

I think that's BS.... Stage 2 software has always been free as long as you have stage 1 software and the intake...

My service Tech at BMW San Francisco said it was free for Stage 2 software as long as you have the CAI and intake.... Maybe it's a marketing ploy at other dealers when they tell you it's $399 but they'll give you a rebate..... That's why I call them the stealership

they will not install the CAI without the software (according to my dealer), however, if you already have the Stage 1 Software, then the Stage 2 upgrade is free of charge since they are both the same price. if you were to upgrade to Stage 3 which is $499, then all you pay is $100 for the upgrade. check with your dealer as they vary from dealer to dealer regarding the installation costs. my dealer will waive the $250 installation if i have them install on mine. the other dealer in my location will give me a $100 discount.
