Weird digital info...how do I reset it?

Weird digital info...how do I reset it?

2001 325i...My digital readout underneath the speedometer says -40 degrees F. Then when I switch the mode to mph, it says 33.5. Then when I switch it again it says something else that doesn't make sense...so how can I reset that? cause I know damn well it isn't -40 degrees outside...
