Water Pump replace w/o fan holder?

I am starting my cooling system upgrade this weekend but I don't have a fan clutch holder. I have seen a posting where someone did the job without this tool. If anyone can give details or a link that would be awesome. TIA

hammer technique without much luck. Any other hints as to what I am missing? My mechanic sai this is how he oes it but I must be missing something. TIA

last night to the point that I am trying to get the fan nut loose. I i not buy the holing tool an the wrench an hammer trick is not working. I have not raine the raiator yet but I i remove the upper raiator hose to allow more room to work on the nut. Still nothing. At this point I have feel that my best option is to replace the hose an refill the coolant an wait till I get the tool.

If anyone can offer any solutions to this problem please respon asap. I will be putting everything back together soon.
