If anyone can help. I just bought a 2001 325i and I want to buy an extended warranty...it only has 30,500 miles and some of the full 5 year. 100,000 mile warranty quotes I got were...$3300 and $2800. Is there anything cheaper out there???? Helllllp!
swing by some used car dealersips. They usually have them to include on the cars they sell, and since they get comission from the extended warranty, i would assume that they will offer to work with you
Hey glad to know someone wants to buy an extended warranty :-).
I was looking around for some adivce when I was going to get one this year and got no good leads cause it seems no one buys an extended warranty any more. Either the cars are new or they are so good with cars they dont buy warranties. I personally am a certified dufus when it comes to mechanics so it was peace of mind for me.
Okay here is what I did: hope this helps.
I had 6 months and 14,000 miles left on the factory warranty when i bought it from the dealer used. I USED UP ALL MY REMAINING WARRANTY FIRST...... .
Then when it was close to expiring I decided to research some options. This is the warranty I finally bought:
www.1sourceautowarranty.com
Price: 1800$ 4 year 80,000 miles + Free Emissions coverage (its important if you stay in the "environmentally strict" states like Cali and Missouri....lol). Nice payment plan and no -interest financing. The company has a good BBB rating and seems like an above board thing. The contract is good and PRETTY close to the original factory warranty...in fact I would say alomost like the original warranty except of course wear and tear items (brake, fluids, paint, dings, rust etc.)
Hope this rant helps man. My advice spend the extra grand or two .......you just bought a vehicle with a high price tag.......what and extra couple of grand to have peace of mind that if go forbid anything goes wrong its covered. I mean its the same thing with Insurance. Even if you nuthing will go wrong.......you still buy it right???

I don't see anything on that website for that cheap. I warranty is up in 1500 miles and I an debating whether or not to but one. If I can get 80,000 miles for 1800 bucks please let me know how.
Okay I know there is nuthing that cheap on the website. Do what I did:
Get a quote and when you do that you will enter an e-mail address etc. Do that about three times a day for coupla days. Youll prolly get a mail in your account giving you a number and a contact guy. Thats when you call up that sales guy and pitch your deal. Evrything is negotiable on the fone. Just talk to him showing him that you have a better offer from sumplace and youre just looking around. He will quote you a price and some details. You quote him yours and ask him to throw in a free emissions (normally is a 150 bucks extra). Get him to increase the milage or get him to agree on a good financing plan. I could have gotten him lower but he was giving me a good monthly payment deal so i did not care. I am paying 85$/mo and no interest. It all also depends on your car, type, year, milage and how well you can talk to the sales guy. Do your homework and have some atrocious quotes from real companies ready with details if requied.
Also depends on if you want more years, or more miles. I dont drive that much so I reduced my miles from 100,000 to 80,000 and increased my years from 3 to 4. Its all interchangable as I said. lemme know if you need any help.
Warranty is a great idea! I wish I had extended mine. 3 months after it expired, I had to have the entire transmission on my BMW rebuilt (and it has less than 80,000km on it):
You may want to look into getting your car a BMW certified warranty. This way you goto and deal only with BMW for warranty work plus its nice for reselling your car. It cost more but my deductiable is only $50.00.
