Vibration in steering wheel when braking I feel like I may be missing the obvious solution elsewhere in the forum, but here goes:
2001 325xi
90,000 miles
Vibration recently developed in steering wheel when braking - most noticeable at highway speeds (i.e. braking from 40 mph to 60+ mph).
I have a great BMW specific mechanic who typically nails things, but not this so far. Front suspension is all tight or recently replaced. Control arms were most recent replacement. New brakes, calipers, rotors on the back. Front rotors have been checked and no problems noted.
Mechanic seems to be stumped. Has suggested that we may want to look at front axle shafts. Seems like a sretch to me, but he had something similar happen with another x drive.
Would appreciate any suggestions before I dig into the piggy bank for the axles. |
