I am seriously considering buying a 2002 Vette convertible, Black on Black leather!
I have a 2001 330i 4 door as well as a 1997 318i (Daily Driver).
I can get a sweet deal on this vette, I think it would be a great addition to the stable.
What do you think, is it worth it to get a sportscar if you have a 330i already.
This vette is a 6 speed, my 330i is an auto.
Any thoughts...
Get the vette, they look hella sexy, and the chicks dig em. I dont think the 3 series even compairs to it in proformace or looks. Even though i am a bmw driver. my 2 cents

You can't go wrong if it's performance you are after. The 330i to the Corvette (and for that matter any M version) will be like night and day. We love our 330ci, but when we need an adrenalin boost, we take the Vette out. Even the '02 your looking at will eat most things on the road and/or track. My track slips on my stock 2005 C6 Corvette are:
0-60 -- 4.29sec.
1/4 -- 12.369 @ 114.1mph
Top Speed -- 188mph (course tested at Michigan Int'l Speedway)
The 2002 you're looking at will have similar times....probably add 3 to 4 tenths of a second on times (previously I had an '01 C5 Corvette)
If you are getting a good deal, you won't regret the decision!
Hell, instead of going with the 6 series, we are laying a deposit on the 2006 Z06 Corvette and buying an '05 330ci (perfect combination). The new Z06's only competition will be the 400k+ cars, but with a price tag around 70k!
we have two vettes, the sound and raw power never gets old. Their great car's, i can take it on corners in my bmw, but they are a lot of fun and i think very cool. Do what you want, half of the people here are, anything american can go fucking burn in hell, mentality, i like them

Not necessarily true! Porche boxster s, Lotus Elise, Dodge Viper, Bmw M5, and the Audi SR6 all of these cars will run w/the vette in the quarter mile and will actually beat the vette in track races, while costing under 100k.
Still love the Vette though!

You must be unaware of the stats of the 2006 Covette Z06. They are unbelievable.
This is the performance data at Millford & the Ring where GM has obtained these results: (note- all tests were performed with the air intake scoop closed (non-functional)....future Spring tests will be functional ram air induction which should improve times)
