I searched guys and couldn't find a thread, so sorry if this is a repeat.
I have a 2004 ZHP with 58,000 miles on the clock. I have noticed a slight stumble/hesitation between 2500-3000 rpms in 4th,5th,6th gears when trying to accel from those rpms. If I power through the rpms at WOT from a stop I don't really feel it. It's mostly when I'm say in 4th and the rpms are hanging at 2500 and I start to accel it will stumble through those 500 rpms.
I bought a vanos seal kit from BeisanSystems because that seems to be the general consensus on how to fix it. My friend however thinks it won't help because I'm not having any idle issues and because vanos only affects the upper rpm range. Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys.

I don't think the problem is with the vanos seals, you would be having idling issues, plus your vanos works like vtech in a honda...its all top end, and revolves around your variable valve timing. I really think its something else that's not as costly to fix, I just can't put my finger on it...
Heres my $0.50 worth, I would say the mixture is to lean, so I would be looking at a dirty/faulty MAF or more the Throttle position sensor as this sends all the signals for mixture.

I think you got the seals kit to address teh infamous "ZHP rattle," am I correct? FRom what I read, I don't think it is related to the behavior you describe. I'll pay close attention today when driving in 4th, 5th, 6th between 2500 - 3k rpm to see if I get anything similar on my car.
Goood luck

Ooops. Sorry. I forgot to pay attention. I would bet I don't have the sam problem, though. Iwould know if I had loss of power right arond the meat of the torque curve. I'll oay attention next time, I promise.
One thing I'lll say: the zhp rattle, as far as I understand, doesn't have any directly related performance detriments It just sounds bad, they say

I have not checked yet. The dealership wants to charge $250 just to hook up the car and run diagnostics. I would hate to pay that much money to find out i already have the latest software. i might look into it after i do the vanos seals.
