I need on your opinion on this . I have a 2002, 325XI. With the gas prices we see nowadays, I'm thinking of changing my transmission from 5 speed to 6. So I will get another gear to reduce the RPM.
Has anyone done this?
What was the effect? Did it work good?
i think you will have probs with matching the electronics. the difference in shift ranges will throw your DME in a loop.
and then... I am nt sure, but i believe the final drive ratios for the 5 speed and 6 speed are THE SAME. That is to say, you won't be saving gas with the intended mod.
